Word from the President of the Board of Directors.

Marie Claire ESSEBE

"Your health is important to us"

We just celebrated our third anniversary. After realizing, the huge challenges that the Francophone and Francophile communities in the region of the capital were facing in terms of health care needs; Ben’ss has set the goal of improving health service care at home through the promotion of community health. Since its creation, Ben’ss has gone above and beyond the services it had to provide in order to satisfy the French and English speaking community of Ottawa We will continue to work for this community because your health is important to us. We work with all communities, but our priority remains the francophone and francophile community in the national capital.

Word of the CEO

Franklin EPAPE

"We will need more and more home care"

Ben'ss health service has been established since 2017, after observing the difficulties encountered by the Francophones and Francophiles of the capital in terms of access to Health care. Ben’ss works with all communities, but puts a focus around the French speaking community. Home care and community care aims among other things to:

  • Helping beneficiaries maintain or improve their state of health and/or quality of life ;
  • Helping beneficiaries remain as independent as possible;
  • helping families meet the health care needs of one of its members ;
  • help beneficiaries stay or return home and receive appropriate treatment, rehabilitation or palliative care, as required ;
  • provide caregivers with the support they need. The demand in terms of extension of coverage and quality of care to home and community care is likely to intensify over the years to come, due to multiple factors namely:
  • ¥ the tendency to move health care out of hospitals in order to offer them at home and in the community;
  • the ageing of the population ;
  • changing public expectations;
  • advances in medicine and information technology. In view of the baby boomer who is observed in the capital, we will need more in addition to home care.
